Shawl Weaving Artisan - Winding and Warping

Winding of warp from warping drum

Objectives : At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
• prepare warp beam for weaving process.

Requirements

Tools/Equipment’s/Instruments
• Warping drum - 1 No. • Paper sheet - as reqd.
• Warp beam - 1 No. • Thread for lease - as reqd.

PROCEDURE

1 Set up an empty beam near to the warping drum. 4 Then attach the yarn to the lease rod which is
attached to the beam (Fig 3)
2 Take one section of yarn from the warping drum and
keep them straight and untangled. (Fig 1) Fig 3

5 Likewise attach all the sections to the beam. (Fig 4)

3 Now Insert lease threads between the warp, so the Fig 4
warp became untangled Fig.2
